Patricia A. Pomper

Managing Partner

Patricia has been practicing as an Applicant’s Attorney since 1998. Prior to that, she worked as a vocational counselor for injured workers for over 11 years. Overall, she has over 27 years of experience in the California Workers’ Compensation arena.

Presently, she is the managing partner of the Law Offices of Pomper & Dettenhaim in Oakland, CA. Before taking over the practice in 2005, she worked as an associate/partner with the former Administrative Director, Rosa Moran. She also served as an intern for the Law Offices of Rosa Moran while in law school.

In addition, Patricia is a current member of the Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of California, as well as, a certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist, State of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is also a member of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (CAAA).

Patricia performs pro bono work for the Asian Law Caucus and has spoken at several events for CAAA and the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of California.

Patricia is very active in the local workers’ compensation community and she currently resides with her family in the East Bay Area.

Mary E. Wong

Office Manager

Mary has provided injured workers with guidance through the workers’ compensation system for over 25 years. Mary previously served as the Office Manager for the Law Offices of Ellen Wakeley and she became the Office Manager at our firm in 2006. Mary has accrued extensive knowledge and experience throughout her workers’ compensation career, and she assists our clients as a legal expert and hearing representative. Mary currently resides in the East Bay Area with her family.

Carolina Larios

Legal Assistant

Carolina began her career in the workers’ compensation field in 2006 as a legal assistant at our firm. In her position, Carolina provides comprehensive legal-administrative assistance and exemplary case management services to our clients. Carolina is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is originally from Jalisco, Mexico; however, she now resides with her family in the East Bay Area.

Martha A. Ochoa

Legal Assistant

Martha has worked within the workers’ compensation industry for over 10 years. She began her career at the Law Office of William T. Hyndman, and she began working as a legal assistant at our firm in 2006. Martha is very knowledgeable of the workers’ compensation system and she serves as the primary point of contact for colleagues and clients. Martha is bilingual in English and Spanish. Originally from Mexicali, Mexico, she now resides in the East Bay Area with her family.

Christine M. Vertiz

Legal Assistant

Christine began her career in the workers’ compensation field in 2012 as an assistant/intern for the former Administrative Director of the California Division of Workers’ Compensation. Currently, Christine works as a legal assistant at the firm while she pursues a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco. Christine is a Bay Area native and currently resides in the East Bay region.

April B. Andrade

Legal Assistant

April began her career in the workers’ compensation industry in 2012 as a graduate assistant/intern for the former Administrative Director of the California Division of Workers’ Compensation. April recently earned a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, East Bay, and she currently works as a legal assistant at the firm. Also a Bay Area native, April resides in the East Bay region.
